On Tuesday, February 27, the Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck, received Federal Deputy Flávia Morais (PDT-GO) and the Executive Director of the International Institute of Identification (InterID), Célio Ribeiro, who serve respectively as general coordinator and executive secretary of the Joint Parliamentary Front for the Right to Identity (FrenID). Also present at the meeting were State Deputy Dr. George Morais (PDT-GO) and the Secretary of Digital Government, Rogério Mascarenhas. The meeting focused on strategic discussions and actions aimed at advancing the National Identity Card (CIN) project.
During the meeting, various strategies were discussed to further strengthen the implementation of the CIN, with a particular focus on ensuring its widespread adoption in all federal units. The goal is to accelerate the project across all regions of Brazil, ensuring its effectiveness and accessibility for all citizens. In addition, ways to engage civil society and other public agencies in this process were explored, aiming for broad and democratic participation in the development of this important identification tool.
According to Célio Ribeiro, the CIN project represents a significant milestone for Brazilian citizenship, as it seeks to consolidate and modernize identification documents.
‘This initiative is recognized as the largest citizenship project in Brazil. It is essential to ensure the support of the Parliamentary Front to drive the implementation of this project across the country. By joining forces, MGI and FrenID demonstrate a shared determination to face challenges and advance the implementation of the National Identity Card. This meeting is a sign of the ongoing and fruitful collaboration that will certainly bring significant benefits to all Brazilians,’ he celebrated.
