Biometric verification could have prevented more than half of the fraud cases in INSS benefits.
“…calculating an avoidable loss of R$ 1.2 billion per year.”
“…A survey by the Federal Police on fraud in INSS concluded that biometric verification could have prevented more than half of the cases.”
“In 58% of these police operations, if biometric data had been collected and adequately cross-referenced with an established biometric database, these losses would have been avoidable.”
A new article on an old problem.
Fraud in social security amounts to billions of Reais. We have repeatedly warned about this.
The solution is in our hands, and we need to implement the new Identification System of the National Identity Card (CIN) definitively.
With a platform powered by reliable official biometric databases and individual biometric identification managed by a specialized technical institution, using recognized technologies that meet international standards, we will significantly reduce such fraud.
We need to quickly implement the new CIN process in all units of the Federation and consolidate this important Identification System platform.
By doing so, we will not only tackle these billion-dollar frauds but also protect our newborns who are being abducted daily from maternity wards and children being trafficked.
The time is now!
CIN, OUR GREATEST INSTRUMENT OF CITIZENSHIP
