The National Identity Card (CIN) will be one of the main topics discussed at the Digital Citizenship Congress, which will take place from September 16 to 18 in Brasília. Organized by the Brazilian Association of Digital Identification Technology Companies (Abrid) and supported by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the National Institute of Information Technology (ITI), the Federal Police (PF), and the Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB), the event aims to deepen discussions on the effective implementation of citizenship through the new Identification System of Brazil.
The CIN, with its national standard and unique number based on the CPF, represents a significant innovation that promises to transform the Brazilian identification system. During the event, ways in which this new card can simplify citizens’ lives while strengthening the security and effectiveness of public policies will be discussed. The Deputy Secretary of Digital Government, Luanna Roncaratti, emphasized the importance of the CIN: “Enhancing the identification system for Brazilians is essential for improving the delivery and provision of public services. Therefore, the federal government is working together with the states to promote the CIN. This is a project that will promote citizenship for people.”
One of the most anticipated moments of the congress will be the discussion on Neonatal and Child Identification, highlighting how the CIN can track the life cycle of Brazilians from birth. The Executive President of InterID, Célio Ribeiro, emphasized the importance of the CIN, not only as an identity document but as a central element in ensuring citizenship and security in Brazil. “The CIN is more than just an identity card; it is a powerful instrument that accompanies citizens from birth, protecting their information and ensuring their rights throughout their lives. By adopting a national standard and unique number, we are effectively combating fraud and building a solid foundation for public policies that truly meet the needs of the population. This Congress is essential to reinforce the importance of the CIN and the commitment of the entire country to the modernization and security of our identification system.”
Additionally, the congress will feature panels dedicated to the use of the CIN in public policies and the national data infrastructure, fundamental topics for building a safer and more efficient future in Brazil. InterID, always at the forefront of promoting security and innovation in identification systems, supports the Digital Citizenship Congress as an essential platform for debate and the development of solutions that will benefit all Brazilian society.
