CNSP Meeting Discusses Revision of the PNSP and Integration of Technologies for Public Security

On Wednesday (19), the Ministry of Justice and Public Security held the 9th Ordinary Meeting of the National Public Security and Social Defense Council (CNSP) at the Justice Palace in Brasília. The event featured the presentation of the revised National Public Security and Social Defense Plan (PNSP) and the main projects of the National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp/MJSP).

The PNSP was revised to set new goals aimed at promoting public safety and reducing crime. Among the targets for 2030 are reducing the female homicide rate, decreasing the prison capacity deficit, and increasing inmate participation in social reintegration activities.

Mario Sarrubbo, Executive Secretary of the CNSP, emphasized the importance of integrating intelligence systems for more effective operations against organized crime. “There are intelligence systems in every state, but these states and systems need to communicate with each other,” he stated.

Célio Ribeiro, President of InterID, highlighted: “The National Identity Card (CIN) is crucial for modernizing public security in Brazil. With a unified identification system, we can better integrate data between different institutions, making it easier to analyze and respond quickly in emergency situations. Additionally, the CIN helps reduce fraud and ensures that citizen information is accurate and up to date, strengthening trust in public security policies.”

The integration of intelligence systems allows for more effective coordination between different levels of government and security agencies, improving operational efficiency and crime prevention. These systems facilitate data collection and analysis, providing a detailed view of criminal activities, which is essential for developing specific intervention strategies.

The 9th Ordinary Meeting of the CNSP highlighted the importance of revising the PNSP and integrating technologies to enhance public security in Brazil. InterID supports these initiatives and recognizes the importance of digital technologies in building a safer and more integrated environment for all Brazilian citizens.
