The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, is now part of the more than 18.3 million Brazilians who have already requested the new National Identity Card (CIN).
The Federal Government expects to issue 130 million documents by 2026, when the issuance of state identity cards will be discontinued.
Célio Ribeiro, Executive President of InterID, also commented, highlighting: “This is the message from the Minister of Justice and Public Security that fills us with pride and gives us confidence in the right path we are pursuing in the implementation of Brazil’s new Identification System.”
The CIN adopts the CPF as the unique identification number across the country, bringing more efficiency to administrative registries, reinforcing public security checks, and reducing the risk of fraud.
