On the morning of Wednesday, March 20, the Joint Parliamentary Front for the Right to Identity (FrenID) held an important seminar during the ‘Legislative Journey – Early Childhood, Childhood, Adolescence, and Youth: Climate urgency, artificial intelligence, health, and violence.’ The event took place at the Freitas Nobre auditorium, in the Chamber of Deputies, in Brasília, bringing together authorities and experts to discuss crucial issues related to the identification of newborns and the prevention of child and adolescent abduction.
The seminar featured the participation of FrenID’s general coordinator, Deputy Flávia Morais, the representative of the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, Marta Volpi, the representative of the Digital Government Secretariat (SGD), Eduardo Lacerda, as well as the delegate Janine Herique Bastos, from the Division for the Suppression of Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling of the General Coordination for the Suppression of Crimes against Human Rights of the Directorate of Investigation and Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
During the event, topics such as the importance of civil identification from birth, strategies to combat the abduction of children and adolescents, as well as public policies aimed at the protection of childhood and youth, were discussed.
One of the key points of the seminar was the need to strengthen civil identification mechanisms from the earliest moments of life, thus ensuring the full exercise of individual and collective rights. In addition, strategies were discussed to improve civil registration systems, making them more efficient and accessible to all citizens.
