InterID will organize Neonatal Identification Seminar

This Tuesday, November 23, during the Executive Meeting of the Civil Registry Working Group of the National Policy for Searching for Missing Persons (PNBPD), the International Institute of Identification (InterID) proposed the holding of the Neonatal Identification Seminar.

According to the director-president of InterID, Célio Ribeiro, who represented the institute on the occasion, the urgent need to seek a safe and effective solution for this issue was discussed. “One of the immediate results of the meeting was the unanimous approval of the holding of the seminar, which will be organized by InterID and which will have the participation of the various government institutions involved, members of the Academy and specialized industry. In its own way, the Seminar may become the beginning of effective actions so that newborns are properly identified”, he explained.

Representatives of the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, the Government Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and the National Institute of Identification (INI) participated in the meeting, in addition to experts and papiloscopists from the state Identification Institutes.

InterID, as an entity in the identification sector, in addition to organizing the Seminar, collaborates in the discussions and proposals of the working group so that solutions are found with a view to eradicating civil underregistration and improving access to Basic Documentation, with special attention to the development of studies that enable the biometry of newborns.
